Model Overview
The E30 needs no introduction — it’s an iconic and picturesque silhouette of the era, drawing popularity as the classic BMW to have. In variations, a factory 325i Manual Coupe has always been the one to have in RHD form, but the right car in todays market carries originality and the correct history — not just the badge and the engine — to be the modern classic you can genuinely rely on and drive every day. As a later facelift example, what this may miss on M-tech trim level, it more than makes up for in ownership, condition, low mileage and sport options.
Provenance and Ownership
Coming from a 22 year ownership stint, this 325i benefits from a tame life in comparison to most manuals, in scarce factory correct form, carrying an evidenced 92, 317 miles from new. The full history has been assessed and compiled into a digitalised provenance file — every invoice, every certificate, every keeper, laid out clearly.
The little mileage covered in recent years has been rectified by an extensive overhaul. From documentation, the cylinder head was removed, skimmed, and a new camshaft, rockers, timing kit and water pump were fitted. The cooling system has a new radiator and viscous fan. The power steering system was overhauled throughout with a new rack, pump and lines. The front suspension has new lower arms, drop links and inner and outer track rod ends, followed by a full rear brake and handbrake overhaul, clutch slave and master, and a full service in November 2025.
Supplied by Averill’s BMW of Norwich in June 1988, this example has resided within the Norfolk region up until my personal ownership in July 2025. With it’s owner handbooks, an MOT paper trail and invoices dating back to 1997. the result is an honest, mechanically sorted example, with the expenditure already behind it at past owners cost.
Condition Summary
The Alpine White paintwork has been treated to a fresh 3-stage machine polish, and the interior freshly detailed. It presents exceptionally throughout, with no scratches or swirls to the paint — the only marks of note being light scrapes to the front and rear bumper trims. Remaining original with its factory trims, headlights and engine bay, the car shows no rust anywhere, a rarity on an E30 of this age. The engine bay is equally original and presentable, clean and free of the corrosion these cars so often show.
The factory BBS 15" wheels and caps have been professionally refurbished and fitted with a matching set of Accelera tyres in the correct 205/ 50/ 15 sizing.
Supplied with an advisory free MOT until November 2026.
