Description
JG Classic and Performance is proud to present Flynn our June 1982 built 1983 Registered Ford Cortina 1. 6 GL finished in Cordoba beige over brown. Flynn is a very rare old car for a few reasons, to start with this Cortina was made within the last month or so of Production being made in June 82 with a hand written note from Ford Motor Company. He was bought new by Mr Gordon who purchased the car from Go Perrys of Finchley to the modest sum of £4650! Mr Gordon has owned the car since displaying fastidious maintenance and care displayed in the cars history folder. In the early winter of 1984 he had the car fully rustproofed which can still be seen today in a lot of areas. However once rustproofed properly Mr Gordon took the car back periodically to have the rustproofing topped by up meaning this Cortina has lasted like no other! I'd suggest this is possibly the most honest and original Mk5 Cortina left today and probably the very last 1 owner example. In the history folder an incredible 39 old MOTs, 39 work's invoices and 25 old tax disks are present along with a selection of original Ford literature and dealer hand over items! I very much doubt many Cortina's come with that sort of file… Overall a car to be preserved to the highest standards which still presents, drives and looks 2 years old. With superb provenance and history, 1 owner and 29 thousand mile ownership and one of the very last Cortina confirmed by Ford. A car screaming with story's, memories and turning back the clock. I've no doubt there are better fully restored and concourse examples out there but do they have the story and character this one does? Weather your a Ford collector or are in the market for a very good Cortina this is the best you'll find. I've no doubt about it! Viewing by appointment only.
