The Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk was a sportive coupe, which established the Studebaker-Packard Corporation 1962-1964. The styling of the GT Hawk was a fairly radical facelift that the designer Brooks Stevens meted out the old Hawk-form; Stevens wanted to conditions of European style car with clean lines, and he called Hawk Monaco (The prototype even had Monegasque flag!). The hood of the earlier models was kept but got a strong lower cowl to see similar to the Mercedes-Benz, which was then distributed by Studebaker in the United States. Despite the European influence of Gran Turismo Hawk also showed American attributes, eg the roof line which was very similar to the Ford Thunderbird. A special feature is the almost flat but recessed rear window. Overall, Exterior retained her soft, aerodynamic style of the former Studebaker, but put him on a contemporary level. The Hawk GT was a lightweight for an American car in its class, time, and so his grandiose V8 made him a high-performance car, with surprisingly good handling and a safe straight.
