Description
Alfa Romeo Alfasud 1. 5. Has been a race car for many years with full roll cage, stripped interior, with race seat and harness. The car is remarkably solid for an Alfasud and presumably this is due to being away from salted roads. A few more years and cars like this will be very hard to find. It has Lowered suspension with Koni shock absorbers. Fitted with 1. 5 Alfa 33 engine with twin Dellorto Downdraught carbs. I bought the car a year ago with the intention of using for track days. Since then the carbs have been professionally ultrasonically cleaned and serviced. A new front to back hard line fuel line has been fitted. The original fuel tank has been removed and inspected and this is all in good order. New front brake discs have been fitted along with professionally rebuilt front brake calipers, with new braided hoses. Currently fitted with new Ferodo DS2500 pads. It has recent Toyo 888 tyres- these are barely worn with the bobbles still in evidence. Painted in striking Mclaren orange. Starts and runs on the button. The engine is strong and crisp. Gearbox and clutch all good as well.
Very few of these around now. Would make a great track day or sprint or hill climb car, with its grip and power to weight ratio. Some small finishing still needed and this will depend upon what you intend to do with it. The car is not road registered, although it has a clear chassis plate. The car has has been identified by an Alfa specialist as a 1983. Unfortunately the build of a new and totally different project forces a sale at this time
Viewing and inspection is welcome. North Herts area.
