Here we have a lovely Chrysler Imperial Le Baron from 1975. It has the whopping 440ci (7. 2 litre) V8 with automatic gearbox. Imported by ourselves from Canada in 2016, this car has 11 months MOT and is sold with all import taxes paid, and with British registration plates. It is a highly presentable, usable classic where you will not be shamed at club meets or rallies. The pricing has been set however to allow for some improvements to be carried out by a caring new owner.
UK Road Legal
The Le Baron is ready to drive away. It has gone through all the Customs and DVLA steps to make it UK Road Legal. Its an excellent drive with it huge torque, and it stops, starts and handles exactly as a 1975 US car should.
Driving The Chrysler Imperial
The first impression of the car is its sheer physical size as you look at the long bonnet ahead of you. And at nearly 19'6" long and 6'6"wide this is undoubtedly a big car. However when you start to drive it, it is light, smooth and very easy to control. The power steering, and very good turning circle for its size means that the car is quite manoeuvrable and it is a fine cruiser. The big engine is hardly audible and is very low revving in normal driving. Gearchange is ultra-smooth both up an down the 'box with no issues.
Its an excellent drive with it huge torque, and it stops, starts and handles exactly as a 1975 US car should.
Exterior
For a 41 year old car the overall body condition of the Le Baron is very good. The car is finished in an attractive metallic maroon, and cleans up very nicely. There are some areas where the car could be improved if it is to be brought to show standard, but most owners will not see the need. Its a really sound vehicle.
Interior
The seats in these Chrysler Imperial cars are padded and very comfortable indeed. They are without rips or tears, and the carpets are all in very good condition. Some instruments could need attention, with the speedo and odometer not currently working. The mileage of the car however is 76000, and this is very believable. In Canada the car had not been used for some time, and we think the with lubrication these instruments will likely work again. There is no air-con on this car.
