Project car. A bargain priced late S3 Fulvia in a distinctive original colour requiring improvement.
History of this car
This tipo 818. 630 Fulvia Coupe is an Italian delivered car registered new in Bologna in 1975 and has lived locally until imported by us recently. According to the Italian logbook, this is a two owner car from new.
Mileage recorded today is 7000klms which is probably 107, 000klms (or 67000 miles) which is unwarranted but possibly genuine given the condition of wear items inside the cabin.
This car is sold as a project and is not to MOT standard. It requires some work but is not the usual wreck. It is sold on a trade sale basis and with cancelled Italian documents and an HMRC Nova clearance number. Once you have an MOT for it, registration in the UK is both quick and simple.
Body
This Fulvia has a good solid body finished in the delivery colour of marrione parioli, a funky colour which particularly suits the car. Whilst the body appears rust free the car does require some chassis repairs, in particular the subframe mounts.
The glass, including the Carello headlights are undamaged, as is the fine stainless and alloy trim, and bumpers and grille are in equally good order, as are the wheels which have been refinished. The paint is an older repaint with some scratches and marks, but will go again with some localised repainting.
Mechanicals
The engine is good in this car and it runs and drives; oil pressure is excellent and smoke minimal, and no leaks are apparent. It hasn’t been used for some years however, so work is required to the brakes and exhaust, and a deep service is recommended. Our Fulvia is shod with Fulda radials which have plenty of tread.
Interior
This is very nice indeed with cream seats and super cool green carpeting, which is in excellent condition. There is a small crack to the dashboard but overall this interior is ready to use and no work is required. A period radio is installed and even the clock works!
Boot
Sound and clean with spare wheel and tie down.
Summary
A Fulvia for improvement offered at basket case money – a steal for someone. Finished the car is worth £15, 000 so there is room for a tidy profit.
