With just 21k miles from new, this 1991 500SL must be one of the finest examples of its type in the country and a unique opportunity for a collector. Previously supplied by ourselves and we’re delighted to offer this car once more.
Specified in Pearl Blue metallic with contrasting Andor Blue lower half, dark blue folding roof, body colour hardtop and dark blue leather interior.
This remarkable car was delivered on the 1st January 1991 to Mr K Piggott of Surrey by Mercedes dealers, Sunningdale Carriage Co. Ltd. Used sparingly ever since delivery and always cossetted, the first owner kept the SL until 2012, at which point it had covered just 14k miles. Since 2012 this Mercedes has been in the hands of two collectors who have used the car regularly but sparingly, and the car remains in absolutely incredible original condition.
Every document relating to the car from new has been kept and filed, including the factory build card, the original PDI check sheet, the original sales invoice (£75k) and all correspondence between Mr Piggott and Mercedes.
The car has a full and detailed service history – MB main dealer until 2012 and one specialist thereafter – with all bills and records from new.
In addition, the car comes with all factory books/ manuals, two keys, HPI Certificate, original sales brochure, previous MoTs, all factory tools (unused) and spare wheel (also unused).
Recently, the car has benefitted from having four new suspension spheres fitted along with replacement of the hydraulic fluid, and four new Continental tyres.
A tailored car cover, hardtop stand and hardtop cover come with the car in order to further protect it when not in use.
