Lot 81
A 1954 BMW R25/ 3, registration number 732 UYM, frame number 307280, black. The R25/ 3 was the first true post WWII model produced by the Bavarian company. Introduced in 1951, they featured an overhead valve single engine, sprung forks and plunger rear suspension. In 1953, new hydraulic forks became a standard feature and the motorcycle would remain little changed until the new R26 came into production. This R25 has formed part of a small private collection of BMWs. The vendor advises us that the engine has been rebuilt by Mike Barr and has seen minimal use since. We are informed that the BMW is now ready to be enjoyed by the next custodian and will be offered for auction with a dating certificate. V5C, MOT and tax exempt See illustration
