We present for sale this excellent low mileage, 1 former owner, classic 2. 5 Boxster which comes with an impressive service history including 9 OPC Kendal service stamps followed by a Hartech ‘lifetime maintenance plan’ for the last few years. The car is excellent original condition throughout with no major signs of damage or wear, and drives beautifully.
The exterior of the car remains in very nice condition and presents very well with nothing more than a few stone chips or the occasional light scratch to be found on close inspection (as you might expect on an 18 year old car).
The alloy wheels are also in excellent condition with no kerbing damage or corrosion and all tyres are in excellent condition with plenty of tread depth remaining.
The Boxster Red leather interior contrasts very well with the silver bodywork and was the combination chosen by Porsche for the original Boxster concept vehicle back in 1996. The interior remains in excellent condition with no major wear. The Air Conditioning is fully functional as is the original Radio CD unit with CD Auto-changer. The electric folding black fabric hood is in excellent condition with no major wear or marking and the rear screen remains in good clear condition with no excessive marking, cracks or splits in the plastic.
The simple, elegant design has aged really well alongside its bigger brother the 996 series 911 which has seen a real turn around in values over the last couple of years. Good early 986 Boxster’s with low mileage are now also becoming hard to find as they gain ‘modern classic’ status and they do not come much better than this.
Arguably more sorted and less prone to issues than the 3. 4 S, the 2. 5 Boxster offers a nice balance of power and handling with very little electronic aid interference making for a hugely rewarding drive. This Tiptronic S version has a 5 speed auto gearbox making light work of todays busy roads, with optional manual over-ride via gear change buttons on the steering wheel for when the road clears and the driver wants more driver involvement.
This car, having covered just 65, 000 miles in the hands of two carful owners, on the move this boxster still feels precise and tight to drive. The engine idles smoothly and quietly and revs freely on the move, the steering is light but accurate and gives endless feedback to the driver. The Tiptronic S gearbox works effortlessly and makes town driving or motorway cruising very easy and relaxing. The manual mode, operated via the steering wheel mounted selector buttons also works as it should with smooth gear changes at the press of your thumb.

HISTORY:
The car was first registered on 22nd May 1999 at Porsche Centre Kendal to the original owner, Mrs Bux of Preston who owned the car for 16 years. The car which was was sold to the current owner, another family member in July 2015 who had the car lightly re-commissioned after a period of little use.
The current owner then had the car inspected and accepted onto Hartech’s lifetime maintenance plan in July 2015 and has had the car serviced and maintained in accordance with the scheme to date with the last visit comprising of a major service, Brake fluid change, wheel alignment and MOT test in May 2017.
