With a revolutionary Aluminium chassis, the understated S8 remains the definitive Q car with this example in Brilliant Black showing in quite magnificent order. The attitude of the car shifts markedly with sports suspension offering a 25mm drop in ride height whilst subtle styling additions include solid aluminium door mirror covers, chrome-effect belt line, lower front grille trim and polished twin exhaust pipes.

INTERIOR
Absolutely in a class of it’s own the cabin space is a premier lounge for both driver and passenger. Every surface that comes into contact feels reassuring with well thought out ergonomics and incredible specification. The front seats are virtually unmarked with exemplary contour and shape whilst the rear bench remains in showroom condition.
Carpets are clean and free from stains or serious wear and the wood trim has no cracks or scratches. The dashboard is also in very good shape with no scuffs or cracks from sun damage. All the electrics work exactly as they should, with switch gear solid and both sunroof and electric rear window blind fully operational.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 4. 2 litre engine is reactive beyond expectations; agile, sonorous and smooth. With 5 valves per cylinder, optimised combustion and valve timing the car responds to throttle input superbly; belying the cars weight and character. The S8′s unusual mix of attitudes and attributes means it’s not easy to define its character; Its light steering is from the luxury end of the spectrum while its sense of urgency – from its short gearing – is decidedly performance car.
The engine bay appears exceptionally clean and tidy with performance to match thanks to a full timing belt service with the main dealer in 2015.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The silver Avus wheels complete the esteemed Millenial Audi style with badges and caps complete and in excellent condition. PZero Nero GT rubber adorns all four corners displaying plenty of tread depth.
The brakes appear and perform as they should having had all pads and discs replaced in 2014.
HISTORY FILE
This S8 had its delivery inspection with Autohaus Notscher in August of 2000 and features the uprated 355hp 40 valve engine that was implemented from ’99.
The car was pressed into light service in the care of it’s first business owner with services at the main dealer at 10k and 19k miles. Long term private ownership then followed with a gentleman who split his time between the UK and Europe; subsequently the car was professionally dry stored for a time with the owners son occasionally using at weekends. More recently the car has been worked on by Porsche Silverstone, Nottingham and Yeovil Audi who have replaced all wear parts, fluids, ball joints and brake lines. The gearbox has also been serviced alongside a full cambelt, aux belt and water pump replacement whilst the problematic AC system is fresh from a complete overhaul to the tune of £2. 5k.
All invoices for work carried out are present and correct alongside the spare key with full book pack and the original stamped service book. An original dealer brochure also sits in the history file with the TomTom Nav DVD.
