The Jaguar E Type is widely acknowledged now as one of the most beautiful cars every built, and in 1961 it must have seemed out of this world.
Introduced in to the public at the Geneva Motorshow in 1961 the E Type caused a sensation with instantly classic lines and 150mph top speed. The newcomer's design owed much to that of the racing D Type: a monocoque tub forming the main structure, while a tubular spaceframe extended forwards to support the now legendary 3. 8 litre, 265 bhp straight six engine.
This beautifully restored early RHD Roadster is very rare with its cut-in bonnet louvers and flat floor, as nearly all of the early cars were built for the LHD export market. Luckily Australia had a tradition of getting the first RHD cars built as a valuable trading partner for Sir William Lyons Company with Bryson industries the sole importer for the Jaguar brand.
The early cars have all the pure features intended by the designers including lightweight peaked seats and covered headlights which the later cars lost.
Restored over 10 years ago to the highest of standards the car features its original period Radiomobile radio, mounted in the classic alloy dash and subtly updated with the sporting theme in mind to include triple lace chrome wire wheels and stainless steel exhaust system which only goes to make this stunning roadster drive great and sound fantastic.
Part of a private collection the past 8 years and prior to that long term ownership this stunning E Type Series 1 Roadster is finished in the classic combination of Cream with wonderful contrasting Red Connolly hide leather interior and black mohair soft top.
Accompanying this E Type Series 1 is the paperback maintenance booklet and a bound parts folder as well as original tool kit.
With the recent upsurge in interest in these already highly desirable cars we recommend you come in for a viewing today.
