Description
Peter Vardy Heritage offer this outstanding Austin Metro GTa 3 Door Hatchback and your opportunity to own a piece of British motoring history.
From an era where the Metro was a huge seller in Britain, with more than 1 million being sold over a 10-year production run, the Metro quickly proved popular with buyers, with a 19-year-old Lady Diana Spencer buying one of the early examples. Even then, during the early part of its production life, it was the best selling mini-car in the UK with the hatchback body shell being one of the most spacious of its time, a significant factor in its popularity. The space efficient interior was also lauded for the novel 60/ 40 split rear seat which was standard on higher specification models.
This particular example can only be described as outstanding, showing no signs of any ageing and subsequently being presented in what can only be described as time warp condition.
Originally registered by Dutton Forshaw Aylesbury on the 1st August 1989, the vehicle has covered a mere 34593 miles. Benefitting from a comprehensive Service File, this outstanding example shows a rigorous programme of maintenance throughout its 19 years of clearly very careful ownership:

The vehicle is in outstanding original condition and free for any corrosion. The paintwork displays a deep lustre and is free from any ageing. The interior is outstanding with no signs of wear or marking. Graced with the proven 1275 cc A-Series engine that saw service in the classic Mini right up to the end of mini production in October 2000, the 4 cylinder Single Overhead Camshaft 75BHP engine deliveres a Top Speed of 103MPH, with the 0-60MPH dash being achieved in a respectable 11. 8 seconds.

In addition, the original Dutton Forshaw Book Pack containing Instruction, Service and Radio Manuals and Dealer directory as well as all keys and a large quantity of old tax discs and MOT certificates are all present.
