Introduced in 1956 the A35 replaced the A30 giving better acceleration & top speed to meet the improving road conditions and growing expectations of drivers in the mid 1950’s.
The car was popular with over 280, 000 sold over the next three years. Our example was originally purchased by Wilfred James Caldecott and registered on 3rd July 1958. Wilfred drove the car regularly until failing eyesight meant he had to give up driving and the car passed to his granddaughter. The car was used every day for a period of time before being tucked away and only used on special occasions for 20 years.
Today the A35 is one of the most original examples you could wish to find. The car drives extremely well with good engine/ gearbox and benefits from a recent brake overhaul. The tweed grey paint work is largely original and the body shell, with factory applied under seal, has never been welded and is corrosion free. The interior seats/ door cards are the original red vinyl which presents extremely well and the roof lining and carpets were replaced some years ago.
The history file contains original handbook, buff log book, lubrication chart and every registration document issued for the car up to the current V5.
This is the third A35 we have marketed through Milestones in the last month and it is arguably the most charming having covered 60, 000 miles with just three keepers from new. We recommend viewing in order to fully appreciate this remarkable little car.
