EXTERIOR
The Calypso Red Metallic exterior paint is in wonderful condition on this car. It is evidently clear that this has been a cherished car throughout its lifetime. The car still has a beautiful shine to the lacquer and the paintwork looks fresh. Being a Lux model, this example features specification that was usually found on higher models. There is no rust, blemishes or scratches and is in wonderful condition for the age. Likewise, all light lenses and trim retain a fresh appearance. The factory glass is present all around the vehicle with the BMW etchings on all of the windows, with the rear window still retaining the original BMW dealer sticker, Wood BMW.
INTERIOR
The Grey Cloth is in as near to new condition, as one would expect with this mileage. The car still retains that new car smell and the carpet, trim, switches are all free of wear and have aged very well. The interior is in beautiful original condition and only suffers the slightest of wear from the sunlight. All the carpets are as new and suffer no wear. The seat bolsters are in equally as good and are free from any scuffs or sagging. The dashboard and centre console are also in equally fine condition, with no cracks or sun damage to be found. –A common weakness on E30s. This car still retains the original and working Blaupunkt cassette/ radio. The toolkit is present and complete.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This E30 is powered by BMW’s 1. 6-litre unit, mated to a five-speed gearbox. This example performs perfectly and the car drives beautifully. The engine bay is wonderfully original and the bonnet sound deadening is in as-new condition, anyone who knows about E30s will know that this is a common item that needs replacing. Overall, the engine bay has a factory-fresh appearance throughout.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The 14-inch alloy wheels are in wonderful condition and are shod in tyres, all with good tread. The spare wheel and tyre are completely unused and are as-new.
HISTORY
This E30 316i Lux was first registered in August 1990 and has a fully stamped service history. This example has an extremely thorough history file and comes complete with all invoices and receipts, including a previous bill of sale from the 90s from a BMW dealer. Overall, if you are looking for a completely original, rust-free and low mileage E30 complete with all documentation, this is the car for you. This car is ready to be enjoyed on our roads. E30s of this condition, mileage and originality are getting scarce.
