Austin A35 – Restored Car
Introduced in 1956 the A35 replaced the A30 giving better acceleration & top speed to meet the improving road conditions and growing expectations of drivers in the mid 1950’s.
Our “deluxe” example was rescued in 1989 from a neighbouring garden and the new owner commenced a six year restoration. The car was re-registered, the bumpers re-chromed, headlining renewed, seats/ door panels replaced & recovered, rear springs re-tensioned, new sills/ some welding as required and a respray in original tweed grey.
The subsequent owners have maintained the A35 to a high standard and used her sparingly for club runs and family outings. Today the car presents well with the paint from 20 years ago still looking good with no evidence of corrosion and excellent chrome work. The engine bay is nicely detailed and the interior is good with excellent seats and door cards.
There is a nice history file with a variety of photographs from when the car was “rescued”, and a good number of invoices, MOT’s, original sales broacher, club magazines etc.
This is the fourth A35 that we have marketed in recent months but the first deluxe with the opening rear quarter-lights and heater. Ready to be used and enjoyed we expect this lovely little car to find a new home very quickly
