1965 Ford Mustang Fastback 2+2 289 A Code 225 bhp V8 with 4-speed Toploader manual gearbox and Hurst shifter. Finished in factory Poppy Red with black bucket seats, GT optioned front fog lights, later Mustang AM Radio/ Tape player, fold-down rear seat and front disc brake upgrade.
This very early numbers matching Mustang Fastback was built at Dearborn on January 9th 1965 with the following specification:

With the exception of some changes and additions of a Edelbrock Inlet, Holley Carb, Chrome air cleaner and Rocker Covers this car still retains its stock factory specs as listed above. The Data-plate corresponds to the above and we have the decode print out in the History File. Quite an exceptional feat in a car that has had over half a century of service and use. Has also had the benefit of an earlier restoration in the States which included the fitting of new floors and there are over a hundred detailed photos, including the stripped out floors, that can be viewed in its Flickr album link:

Fitted with gloss black Shelby style refurbished powder coated alloy wheels and new s/ s straight-through side exhausts. New tyres, brakes and shocks all round. Early Mustang 3-inch race lap belts front and rear and Moto-Lita leather rim steering wheel along with the original factory item in the boot. Original steel spare wheel with tool bag, boot mat, Mustang handbook and 2 sets of keys.
Since its importation into the UK in 2015 by the first and only UK owner the Toploader gearbox has been professionally re-built and a new Hi-Torq starter motor fitted. We have also just fitted new carpets, door panels, kick boards, gear shift boot and new Monroe load-adjusting coil-over rear shocks. Comes with UK History File and will be supplied with a new MOT and service.
And what a great looking car these early Fastback Mustangs are! This car is especially good to drive and completed a 1200-mile tour of Scotland with us last summer without missing a beat-not bad for a 53 year old classic! And wherever it is seen (and heard) everyone just loves it!!
