Now a rare model, the fabric bodied saloon with coachwork by Mulliners Limited of Birmingham, appealed to the small car buyer requiring a little more exclusivity and the quietness afforded by the then fashionable fabric coachwork. Available in a choice of five colours this model was particularly well equipped with a high standard of finish.
In the previous ownership for almost 40 years this car was formally owned by well known Austin aficionado, the late Arthur Fox and it was from him that it was acquired in 1979. Subsequently restored over several years with little mileage since, the car is exceptionally well presented in its livery of brown fabric with deep maroon leather interior. The carpets have also been replaced and we have just fitted flashing indicators and brake lights to ensure safety in modern traffic conditions.
The car, which is affectionally known as Ermintrude, is supplied with a substantial file including Buff log book dating back to 1950. There is also the correct handbook, a number of early magazines and a framed photograph of the car in the mid-1930s with the original owner.
