Just 85 of these handsome 2 1/ 2 litre Sports were built in the early fifties. The four cylinder engine, mated to a four speed gearbox, was quoted at 100+ bhp and this enables the LeaF to keep up with modern traffic and also makes it ideal for touring. It has a full hood and tonneau and wind up windows.
It is fitted with independent front suspension and drives well with good steering and brakes.
The interior is clean and well presented with light wear on the seat edges. The hood and tonneau are excellent and the chromework very good. There is the odd mark on the paint work, the last owner of thirty years has used the car properly (!), and the underside appears strong and correct.
Lea Francis' were hand built and were aimed at the well heeled enthusiast where exclusivity and quality of build were important and this good looking British sports car is rare and unusual whilst being eminently usable.
