1961 Rover P4 100 With Overdrive And Pre Steel Panels . Currently 98, 775 from new with with 3 recorded keepers . Presented in excellent condition and very original which has been the intention of its long term last owner . Purchased by the last owner in 1997 after it had been stored in a Sheffield Garden for 14 years ! Thankfully it had survived very well and was recommisioned and put back on the road . In 2005 it was treated to a full body strip down and repaint gaining a new coat of its original Norse blue quite a rare Rover colour . In 2006 it had a complete engine rebuild and mechanical overall . All the invoices for all the latter work and work there after are supplied with the P4 100 in an extensively maintained file . 2007 saw the fitting of Classic seat belt kits front and rear , Front seat rebuild and new door rubbers . Normal maintenance has been undertaken to date . The Rover retains its original registration number and old log books , plus its hand book and two sets of keys . The last owner traced its 1st owner who he corresponded with and letters were exchanged along with some lovely period shots of 699MAF on holiday . Today the Rover P4100 is lovely with that correct balance of restoration and patina . You open the doors and you get the musty Rover smell and as you sit you slide back into the leather seating . The 6 cylinder 2625cc IOE engine starts first time and you only hear the gentle click of the fuel pump when standing . Select 1st gear with the large chrome gear lever and your off . Cruises at 55 MPH , Click into overdrive and the 6 cylinder motor becomes beautifully lazy. Everything appears to work as you you progress on even the period radio fitted . The tool draw is present and is just missing a few items . On the lifts the P4 shows no major signs of ever being in a extremely poor state and it has been well anti corrosion treated . So other than an MOT due at the end of April 2018 which we will undertake at point of sale this charming Rover motor car is ready to go .
