This excellent 'de-luxe' example is in very nice condition, and ready for this year's season. It has obviously been restored in recent times and is structurally and cosmetically in good order. The doors fit well and the sun roof opens easily. The blue and black paintwork is in good condition with a few age-related blemishes. A nice feature is that the running board rubbers appear to be the originals. The car starts easily, and runs along nicely through its 4-speed gearbox, with all the instruments including advance and retard levers, and throttle lever, all working properly. The engine runs sweetly and shows good oil pressure. The wheels appear to have been renovated recently and the tyres are very good. Inside, the car boasts its original leather seating, which is generally good, but could be improved with a little re-colouring here and there; the headlining is very recent as are the correct-pattern rubber floor mats. The door cards have been renovated at some stage and they do require a little re-stitching of the pockets just to gather them up correctly. There is even the original window blind in the back, which works very nicely. Flashing indicators have been fitted for safety. There have been seven owners since 1954, and there is a current V5C and buff continuation book going back to 1954. The most recent MOT was in June 2016 and there is a record of MOTs back to 1990. We believe both the registration number and the engine are original.
