Description
This good looking car was built in Bradford in 1952 with what was for the time a high specification. It provides a smooth ride for passengers and is easy to drive in modern traffic conditions, due to all-round torsion bar suspension and rack and pinion steering. The car was rescued by a Jowett enthusiast in 2009, who had all the necessary welding and mechanical work done to put it back on the road and it has done less than 1000 miles since, having been dry stored for most of that time. The interior is a bit shabby and the front seat will need attention to the upholstery but everything is there.
The car starts and runs well with no obvious smoke emissions from the exhaust although it is a bit loud due to a straight through stainless exhaust system. All the gears work, the brakes operate smoothly and so do most of the instruments with the exception of the oil and fuel guages which need some attention.
There are replacement headlights and radial tyres with plenty of tread left, and there are a set of manuals and some history including the original buff log book, but the total mileage cannot be verified. The chrome is generally good with a few exceptions.
