BABY BLUE WITH GREY INTERIOR
The Giulietta represented Alfa Romeo’s second all new post war design. The engine used was to become an icon on its own. The 1, 290cc engine was able to power the new 2+2 Bertone designed Coupe to 102 mph in standard trim. This car was known as the Sprint and was available in more powerful format that was named the Sprint Veloce. Alfa Romeo produced the sprint in all forms, including the much-revered sedan, the Berlina, until 1965.
In 1962, the Giulietta was phased out and replaced by the Giulia. The car on offer today is a 1963 1600 Giulia. This all new car, despite being similar in appearance the model that proceeded it, featured an all new five-speed gearbox and the infamous 1600 twin cam engine that is still loved by car enthusiasts today all over the world.
The car has been fastidiously maintained and in 2016 was subject to a body off restoration where the body was sandblasted. It was discovered during the work that the original floor was in fantastic condition and the only welding that was required was undertaken on the lower edges of the doors. The engine is complete matching numbers and has been fully rebuilt and performs exceptionally. The file shows documented photographs of the restoration work being carried out.
