Here for sale we have this lovely and extremely original Series 2. On the outside, lots of nice period features remain such as the wing-mounted mirrors, recent sand canvas, rear grab handles, correct '3d' vintage numberplates and 650 tyres. The only notable addition to the exterior is the towbar and electrics to allow towing. The original chrome wiper blades remain and this is a pleasing touch. It really does look like the Land Rover® you'd see on a tea-towel, or a poster - in that famous colour scheme!
On the inside, the interior is entirely standard with 3 seats to the front, and deluxe matting to the footwells. The matching spare is housed in the rear in the correct place, with a load mat to the floor. The rear although unfitted could house rear bench seats to allow seating for seven occupants.
Out on the road, this old girl drives as she should and gives a pleasing driving experience. The iconic looks means she gets glances and waves wherever she goes, along with the occasional flash of appreciation too! The correct 650 tyres give super light steering, and the petrol engine is a whisper quiet unit.... when we took these photographs, we had to check it was running!
