This car was imported by Swedish a celebrity motor journalist Robert Collin, perhaps best known for flipping around with the Mercedes A-Class, the welt classe.
It was bought by mr. Collin in 1990 in Los Angeles when it was standing on display.
The mileage reads 54600 kilometers. The car runs excellent, both engine and transmission. The car is converted to European specifications except that the swivel auxiliary lights do not move in tandem with the steering wheel. It is an exciting and enjoyable experience to drive a wagon like this that is a combination of sports car and sedan. It could perhaps fall under the category of GT cars.
Made for long fast trips. The Citroën SM was presented at the Geneva Motor Show on March 11, 1970. The model was discontinued in 1975 as a result of the oil crisis that began a few years earlier. The engine was a 90 degree V6 of 2670 cc. The fuel was mixed with air in three Weber carburetors. In 1973, sm received injection. Diravi control was standard on the SM cars. This meant that the power steering was speed dependent. It was developed to offer extreme servo assist at low speeds that gradually decreased at higher speeds in combination with extremely small steering wheel strokes. In addition, the steering wheel automatically returned to the middle position. One could choose from a five-speed manual transmission or a three-speed automatic transmission. The bodies were manufactured by Chausson outside Paris. Just under 13, 000 cars were built before production ended.
