The Appeal
Introduced in 1929, the new 20/25hp was an immensely popular car in its day. These comfortable, luxurious cars are often credited with Rolls-Royce's long-term survival. After all, there was a Great Depression on, and many early limo makers were falling to the wayside. Thankfully, the 20/25 proved to sell nearly 4,000 vehicles - an impressive enough number to keep the company going in style.
This particular car is a prime example of British luxury motoring, boasting elegant - and very desirable - coachwork by Barker, one of the most esteemed coachbuilders of the era. Originally built for Lady Boles, it's clearly been treasured by every one of its owners since. Almost 90 years later, the car's ivory-over-black coachwork is in excellent condition.
The interior has been re-upholstered with light cream leather to the front and beige 'West of England' hide to the rear, while some minor modifications for modern use, such as twin electric fuel pumps and electronic ignition, have been fitted to help the car keep up to modern expectations.
