The Appeal
In the 1950s and 60s Britain gave the world a plethora of two seater sports cars of which the Triumph Spitfire was one of the prettiest and most accessible. Evolved over 18 years, the final 1500 of 1974 got a bigger engine, more power and an uprated interior.
This solid-looking 1976 1500 sits on smart chrome wheels and shows just how timeless the Spitfire shape is. It run but has been in long term storage so will require recommissioning. It looks like an interesting project with a fun sports car at the end of it.

- Radio and radio blanking plate missing below dashboard

- Some scuffs on front bumper overriders
- Boot floor appears solid but with some paint flaking visible
- Spare wheel appears to be missing
- Chrome bumpers are lightly pitted

Summary
Triumph’s petite Spitfire was all about low cost fun and it put wheels beneath young drivers for 18 years as it evolved through five different versions. The final 1500 sold in the highest number and has a nostalgic place in many car enthusiasts’ mind.
This smart 1500 has been in storage for some time and presents as a solid car requiring light recommissioning. Once running it could likely be enjoyed whilst improving it further.
