The P80-generation Volvo V70 is the Swedish estate car at its most capable and refined, a comfortable long-distance cruiser powered by a smooth inline five-cylinder engine, wrapped in understated Scandinavian design. Well-specified examples in this condition are increasingly difficult to find.

This garnet red metallic V70 has had just one former registered keeper, an aircraft engineer who owned the car for 20 years and documented every journey, service and MOT with extraordinary diligence. The accompanying history file includes the original sales order, a journey log recording every trip with destination, mileage and fuel economy, all service invoices, all MOT certificates and even every tax disc. In 25 MOT tests, the car has failed only once, for misaligned headlights.
