- A beautifully restored early-series MGA 1500 in red with a beige interior
- More than €4,000 worth of work carried out since 2021
- Full service and rebuilt carburettors in 2026
- Independent valuation report describing the car as “excellent”
Overview
The MGA marked a major turning point for MG’s Abingdon works after years of models based on pre-war designs with separate wings. Modern, aerodynamic and remarkably quick for its era, the MGA 1500 is today an elegant two-seat roadster—ideal both for weekend getaways and for classic car rallies.
This 1958 example is one of the last of the first-generation MGA (“Mk I”) models, fitted with the lively and pleasant-to-use 1,500cc engine.
Restored a few years ago, it’s presented in one of the most sought-after colour combinations: red bodywork paired with a fawn-coloured interior.
Its overall condition is particularly appealing, as confirmed by a recent independent valuation report that describes the car as being in “excellent” condition.
The expenditure since 2021 exceeds €4,000. Just in 2026 alone, the carburettors were fully overhauled, four brand-new Vredestein tyres were fitted and a full service was carried out.
Thanks to these recent works, this charming MGA is ready to be enjoyed by its next owner.

✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of a total loss at the time the advert is placed on Car & Classic and we provide category write-off labels (Cat C/D/S/N) to help you. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status, and it’s always useful to carry out a full vehicle history check before making an offer.
