The Appeal
In the 1980s the XJS discovered its mojo. Jaguar boss John Egan’s decision to improve quality, add chrome and generous quantities of wood veneer delivered arguably one of the best GT cars ever built. No wonder good examples, particularly those with the silky V12, remain so popular 30 years after production ended.
This car will surely appeal to enthusiasts. Finished in popular Bordeaux Red metallic with a cream leather cabin, it is a well maintained car in very usable condition. Recent work includes nearly £6,000 invested in the bodywork plus a new starter motor, coil and amplifier. The last service was less than 1,500 miles ago.
The joy of a XJS is that it works as a long-distance cruiser as well as a relaxing weekend wanderer. This car, with its long MOT and recent service, looks ready to do either role perfectly.
The vendor says:
“A great drive. It is a genuine car that hasn't been messed with since new. New tyres. Very tidy interior. Only selling as I have lost access to garage for storage. I love driving it on country roads and for a big car it is very enjoyable. Engine very reliable. Will be missed but deserves to be looked after.”
