The Appeal
The purchase of Alfa Romeo by the Fiat Group in 1986 made it possible to substantially increase the budget for the development of subsequent Alfa models. For this reason, the latest evolution of the Alfa Romeo Spider 105/115, introduced in 1990, featured some important updates over previous generations.
As far as the design was concerned, Pininfarina returned to the model's origins, creating a clean, linear design, eliminating the spoilers and aerodynamic appendages of the 1980s and introducing new bumpers to match the bodywork and innovative horizontal tail lights similar to those on the Alfa 164.
Starting from an already well-kept example of the rare and increasingly sought-after last generation Alfa Spider, this S4 was professionally repainted to a high standard in its original Grigio Metallizzato, the seats were reupholstered in the correct beige leather and a new soft top was fitted. This spider is also fitted with its rare original removable hard top. The mechanics have been thoroughly serviced and we have been assured that it runs very well indeed.
We have rarely seen an example in such remarkable condition, so we would like to recommend this S4 to all Alfisti: it certainly deserves their attention.

The last of the original Alfa Spiders is very reminiscent of the original design conceived by Battista Pininfarina and Aldo Brovarone in the 1960s.
The recently restored bodywork gleams in its original Grigio Metallizzato Chiaro, revealing flawless surfaces and many fascinating stylistic details such as the Alfa badge integrated into the front bumper, the innovative taillights and the sculpted flanks with aerodynamic and stylistic functions.
All lettering and badges are new and the chrome plating is in excellent condition. A new soft top with a transparent rear window and brilliant original alloy wheels complete a picture of refined simplicity.
The underbody is clean with no traces of corrosion or leaks.
The original hard top is an important added value and beautifully complements the car's lines.
The dashboard is neither damaged nor faded and the reupholstered seats and leather-covered door panels are very attractive.
Behind the beautiful four-spoke steering wheel with a wooden crown, the large, clean instrument panel houses two circular Jaeger main dials and a wide range of auxiliary instruments and gauges.
All the chrome is in excellent condition, including the door handles, the window cranks, which have been replaced, and the immaculate chrome door sills.

The clean and uncluttered engine bay houses the legendary all-aluminium Alfa Romeo Nord DOHC engine, which remained in production for almost forty years and is considered one of the best four-cylinder engines ever built.
All the mechanics were recently serviced. The brake system was overhauled with new discs and pads on all wheels, and the brake fluid was replaced. The engine oil has also been replaced.
The seller assures us that all mechanics are in good working order and that the car is ready to be driven.
The driving experience of this Spider is a mix of old-world charm and modern comfort. With the addictive soundtrack produced by the lively twin-shaft engine and the induction sound of the twin-body carburettors, every press on the accelerator pedal is exciting and gives us the feeling of driving a true Italian sports car without compromise.
The road holding is excellent and driving this car on a winding road can be very rewarding.
