Morris were relatively slow to what, at the time, was an increasingly lucrative commercial market. Their first exploit with goods-luggers was sticking a van body on the Oxford, which did a decent job in 1914, but didn't particularly cut the mustard for the ever-growing demands of a newly militarised Europe. As a result, when peace was meant and the 20s dawned, they decided to give it another crack with a dedicated commercial offshoot and enterprise.

In 1924, Morris Commercial became a reality - and got straight to work on this: the one-ton T-Type. It was still reusing a host of passenger car components, but it was unequivocally dedicated to the new trade, with a larger chassis, a host of bodies and - of course - reusing the venerable but dependable Oxford engine. 

Earlier T-types, such as this one, carried the 'Morris' logo cast into the radiator. It was austere, it was straightforward and it was lightweight - hardly much of a grunt under the bonnet, but plenty for the small-to-medium enterprises to make use of, and it quickly became one of the most recognisable vehicles in the country. 

This marvellous example was restored by the vendor's Grandfather, who operated a body shop. This was a project from barn find condition and was later completed with a mechanical restoration by a local car specialist. It's now running exactly as you'd expect from a century-old vehicle, with its cream livery gleaming, the rear bed in fine condition and the chassis looking nice and solid.
