The Appeal
Alfa Romeo has long offered 'Junior' versions of its popular models; lighter, simplified cars with a basic specification and smaller, higher-revving engines. After the considerable early success of the 105 Series "Duetto" Spider in 1600 and 1750 form, Alfa offered a 1300 Junior from June 1968. Records say just 2,680 examples were ever built of which we have here one of the very few factory right-hand drive examples. It's an early car too, which the vendor believes to have been exhibited at the Earls Court Motor Show in period. While there's currently no evidence to support this, we're sure keen Alfisti with an aptitude for research may well find this car to be a very important piece of Alfa Romeo history.
Having undergone a substantial professional restoration which has since aged very gracefully, this Duetto Spider is undoubtably one of the smartest examples of the rare Junior model surviving today.
