Highlights

The most

After securing the top three places in the 1971 and 1973 Monte Carlo rallies, it goes without saying that the Alpine A110 was an extremely capable sports car. Like Lotus' Colin Chapman, Alpine founder Jean Rédélé was obsessed with weight saving, so the A110 remained competitive despite a modest Renault engine under the tailgate.
As well as those built by the Alpine factory in Dieppe, the A110 was built under licence in other countries, notably Mexico where it was known as the Dinalpin. Here is an example of this 1969 model, which appears to be very original and in very good condition for its age.
Refreshingly, this example has not undergone a rally conversion, but remains a road car that can be enjoyed on a regular basis. The vendor reports that it is in very good running order, with no apparent problems. If you're looking for a perfectly balanced sports car from the 1960s, this one is well worth a look.

  • Some of the trim looks slightly pitted, but we haven't seen any noticeable wear or damage
  • The interior looks largely standard, although complete with cage and harnesses No noticeable wear on equipment and controls
  • Switches and instruments look good

The mechanics

  • Renault 1.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine fed by two carburettors
  • Five-speed manual gearbox
  • Impeccably presented engine compartment
  • The seller informs us that there are no apparent mechanical problems.
  • The seller also adds that the car drives very well and is a lot of fun to drive.
