The Appeal
The short-lived Series 2 is the rarest of the original shape and the last to wear it. Just 1,071 RHD FHCs were built. These cars are popular with enthusiasts who value their improved comfort and enjoy properly using their Browns Lane icons.
This Signal Red 1970 car was built at the end of 1969 and has been with the current keeper since 1993. He is just the sixth keeper since it first hit the road 55 years ago. It has been dry stored and little used since the last advisory-free MOT expired in 2020. It is believed to be a matching numbers example with the torquey 4.2L straight six XK motor.
The car is complete and in fair condition for its age. Due to the lack of use, it may be wise to give it a check over and perhaps treat it to a service before hitting the road. There is scope to improve the bodywork, giving the buyer the option to use and enjoy whilst adding value.
