The Appeal
While Land Rovers are ripe for modification, it's refreshing to see an original example like this charming 'Maltese Cross' late Series IIA from 1970. Resplendent in a patinated layer of evocative Bronze Green, this short-wheelbase Landy really looks the part in its handsome tuck cab configuration, complete with the obligatory canvas tilt covering the rear load area.
Having spent years in regular use on a farm before being stored in a barn, this Land Rover retains all its original panels and factory specification, making it increasingly rare in today's market where most examples have been heavily modified or rebuilt. The vendor tells us:
"The Land Rover has had two previous family owners. It was used once a day by a farmer until he died. His son took on ownership and after a could have years it was left in a barn for a number of years until the farm business terminated."
Complete with its Heritage Certificate confirming its provenance, this Series 2a offers the chance to own a piece of British motoring history in wonderfully authentic condition.
