The Attractions
Most Jaguar XJ-C coupes were produced with automatic transmission. Because of this, only very few buyers had the chance to discover just how sporty and capable this large, luxurious GT was. This extraordinarily rare coupe from 1975 allows you to appreciate the hidden talents of the XJ-C, being one of the very few cars produced with an overdrive manual transmission.
The fact that it is one of only 10 examples with a 4.2-litre engine believed to have been registered as new in Italy makes it even rarer. Moreover, only 99 XJ-C 4.2Ls in total were produced in this beautiful and elegant silver metallic colour, which today appears particularly brilliant due to the recent restoration the bodywork received, which included the installation of a new vinyl roof lining, and the recently refreshed paintwork.
In the cabin, the seats and door panels received new blue leather upholstery and the headlining was renewed. The original dashboard was also restored.
Under the bonnet, the excellent appearance of the engine compartment immediately makes it clear that the mechanics have also received a lot of attention. In fact, the engine was disassembled and checked before being rebuilt. The gearbox, carburettors, auto-choke system, fuel system and brakes have all been overhauled and all the shock absorbers are new.
This is a very special and extremely rare example of a classic Jaguar. It is offered for sale with overhaul valid until 2026.
