The Appeal
The Silver Shadow was designed for owner-drivers. For those seeking a less involving, more relaxing and certainly more backseat-focused experience, the firm introduced the LWB Silver Wraith alongside the ‘Shadow II’ updates. It was an expensive but popular option, with 2,135 Silver Wraiths leaving the works over five years.
This lovely 1977 RHD example must surely be amongst the best preserved and lowest mileage. The six digit odometer indicates it has covered a mere 21,542 miles from new, and the preserved condition inside and out supports the vendor’s view that it’s correct.
The car was original sold new to Japan where it spent much of its life on the salt-free roads and enjoying the nation’s renowned commitment to high maintenance standard. Latterly it arrived in Europe and has spent time in Germany and Switzerland before being imported to the UK recently.
The car is available for UK registration or could be registered in Europe, depending on the buyer’s preferences. These big Rolls-Royces make great touring cars and also have obvious commercial potential, particularly in this colour.
