Highlights
- Only 89,000 miles from new
- 1.8L fuel injected M10 8-valve engine with manual box
- Only four registered keepers
- Complete project that has been garaged by long term keeper
The Appeal
The E30 gave buyers more surefooted 3-Series handling but without losing the ‘ultimate driving machine’ verve that encouraged buyers out of their Sierras and Cavaliers.
While many enthusiasts gravitate to the six cylinder models, the smaller 318i has a lot of charm thanks to decent performance and a lighter engine. This Alpinweiss 1987 two-door has been with the current keeper - the car’s fourth in 38 years - since 2011. He has garaged it since 2012 so it is sold as a complete project for recommissioning.
We are told that the car starts and runs. It is a nicely specified car with manual box and those classic 80s lattice alloys. With interest in E30s growing, for the right buyer this looks like an interesting project.
