The Appeal

The Golf cabriolet was so good and faced so few obvious rivals that it remained in production for 10 years after its hard top siblings made way for the Mk2. The same reasons make it a great classic today - it’s well built, reliable with neatly engineered Karmann roof and then there’s the practical four seat layout.

The Clipper got the car’s final facelift, most obviously the body colour bumpers and side skirts. This Paprika Red Clipper is a realy tidy example that comes to market fresh from a huge list of work by the seller. Highlights include attention to the brakes, including an Eibach lowering kit, cooling system, brakes, servicing and a replacement cambelt less than 1,500 miles ago. The current MOT runs to August 2026 with a couple of points to note.
