The Appeal
In the 90s every car maker was getting back into coupes. For Volkswagen, this was familiar territory. Its Giugiaro-penned Scirroco was one of the prettiest cars of the 70s.
The Corrado channeled the Scirroco’s aesthetic and was also Golf-based. Those oil bits were from the Mk2, which means they were very good indeed. The one to have was the G60, which delivered 158bhp together with an evocative supercharger whine.
Corrados were expensive and sales slow, which makes this survivor rare. Its factory standard specification, Jet Black Gloss paintwork and unmodified condition further dial up the exclusivity. It has been carefully curated by its handful of owners who have kept the service history up to date.
A recent bodywork and paintwork refresh and mechanical overhaul means it comes to auction in very good condition. A long MOT to April 2026 adds reassurance.
