The Rolls Royce Phantom, has long been the benchmark and flag bearer in the executive luxury car world, a name utilised by the marque on their most prestigious models for decades, buyers have long known that when it comes to the king of luxury motor cars, there is no replacement for a Phantom.
 
It was the seventh generation Phantom that is considered the most significant in the marques impressive history and is the car that arguably saved Rolls Royce as it trundled into the 21st century. With helpful influence and a fresh monetary injection from BMW, the new model, launched in 2003, carried the Phantom into the modern age, bringing the model right up to date without compromising on the classic sophistication one can only get with a Rolls Royce.
 
This 2007 Phantom is a great presentation of the esteemed model. Finished in classic, striking specification, it's a generally very good example, backed by a wealth of Rolls Royce dealer servicing history and an advisory free MOT delving into September 2025, EU56 SVE can be seen as a brilliant usable Phantom and a great pathway into the world of Rolls Royce and Phantom ownership.
 

 

 

It’s a recipe that's remained largely unchanged on the model since. Then it comes to aesthetics, there's no getting away from the Phantom's long sweeping lines and chiselled front end. It’s a vast car and one that holds incredible road presence, especially in this Blue Ice metallic colour scheme. It's a striking colour, a special paint finish and one rarely seen on Phantoms especially of this era. The paintwork itself is largely very presentable, however there are some areas of blemishing and light scuffing to be seen in areas of the bodywork, namely the front driver side wheel arch and the rear bumper corners. There is also some light bubbling presenting itself around the passenger door handles.
 
Acres of chrome trim make up a great deal of the Phantom’s exterior, we find the vast vertically slotted front grille and adjoining Spirit of Ecstasy to be in great form and the story is much the same with the surrounding fixtures. It is on the window trims however, where some notable deterioration is visible, predominantly seen on the front windscreen fascia. The glass work itself though, is in good clean order throughout.
 
At ground level four excellent 21” alloy wheels take precedence and work well to further set the Rolls off from an aesthetic perspective.
 
Opening the iconic suicide doors and moving inside, one is presented with a wonderful cabin, impressively well preserved and in generally great order with limited signs of wear to note. Swathes of high quality leather find themselves draped over nearly every surface that isn't adorned with a timeless gloss wood finish trim, seating throughout is incredibly comfortable and the leather here and on the adjoining door panels is worn minimally and of the utmost quality, the same can of course be said for the aforementioned wood trims and fascias.
 
The cabin itself is of an impressively high spec, this being a Rolls Royce, with a plethora of driver aids and passenger conveniences seemingly available wherever you look in here. Electric memory seating is just the tip of the iceberg in the front, with climate and phone controls, along with an infotainment screen with built in navigation on offer, the latter of which can be hidden away in place of a more classic fascia with an analogue clock. The relevant controls and adjoining interior switchgear presents in very good order and indicates limited careful usage throughout the car’s lifetime.
 
Carpeting is in good clean shape and further protected by plush overmats front and rear, finished in a subtle but contrasting green hue. A quality, well fitting headliner consumes the roofline and houses an electronically operated tilt and slide sunroof which is in good working order.
 

 

 
Rolls Royce has long been commended for their commitment to comfort and refinement. In fact it was one famous press article in which the journalist claimed that at 60mph, the loudest thing in the Rolls he was driving was the electric clock. The brand has one main goal with their cars, nothing must compromise on the quality of the ride, a notion perhaps no clearer than in the Phantom.
 
Despite a vast V12 engine capable of rather splendid acceleration and top speed figures nestled under the bonnet, the Phantom remains calm, composed and impressively gentle on the ears. The ride is sublime and was clearly the focus of many long nights in the Rolls Royce handling and suspension department.
 
From a mechanical perspective, this particular Phantom looks to be very good indeed. The gargantuan V12 engine appears to have been serviced consistently at the hands of supplying Rolls Royce dealer P & A Wood with the most recent service marked in the accompanying service book showing to have been performed around 300 miles ago. Since then, the car has been stored by independent RR specialists Silver Lady, who have put the car through its MOT.
 
On the road the Phantom drives nicely. Gear changes are smooth from the column operated automatic gearbox, handling feels impressively light and smooth for a car of this size and power delivery seems consistent and smooth.
 

 

 
The Phantom has long been a household name in the Rolls Royce roster and in the world of luxury motoring. Still in production today and considered to be the benchmark for what a luxury private limousine should be, the present day Phantom has its seventh generation forebear to thank, as it was this car that not only saved the model, but arguably Rolls Royce itself, certainly no mean feat.
 
Suave, elegant and incredibly striking from an aesthetic perspective, EU56 SVE is a charming presentation of the marque’s modern classic poster child. Finished in a colour scheme seldom seen on Phantoms of this era, and backed by a long advisory free MOT and a solid accompanying service history, it is a generally very interesting and genuinely usable example of the breed. Excellent for an entry into the desirable world of Rolls Royce ownership.
