1962 Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider For Sale
The Spider, Sprint and Sprint Speciale Giulias introduced together with the Giulia sedan in 1962 were rebadged and updated versions of earlier Giulietta Spider, now with a 104 Horsepower 1. 6 liter instead of a 1. 3 liter engine. Easiest way to distinguish a Giulia from a Guilietta is a bonnet bulge to clear the slightly taller engine. The Giulia Sprint 1600 arrived in June 1962. The Sprint coupe was also available for a short time with the 1. 3 liter engine as the Sprint 1300; essentially a Giulietta Sprint with a different name. This version carries a small 1300 script on the lower trunk lid, while Giulia 1600 Sprints have a 1600 badge just behind the rear wheel. Alfa Romeo's engine sported wet sleeve style iron cylinder liners that were slip-fit into the reinforcing-webbed aluminum block, rather than cast or pressed into place; this design offered excellent cooling properties and light weight.
This 1962 Alfa Romeo Giulia has just come out of long term ownership. Previous owner had the car for over 40 years. This car has the original 1600cc engine with the original manual gearbox. This vehicle hasn't been on the road in many years. Engine on the car does run by pouring gas into the carburetor. On the dash there are some racing plates from back in the seventies. Has all four original Alfa Romeo wheels. It is a complete car. This car is the first year for the 1962 Giulia's. Has the original air cleaner assembly and all other parts on the car are original.
The interior on the car is all complete but will have to be restored. All the factory gauges are there. The soft top frame is there and moves freely. Has manual windows. Both factory seats are there. The glass on the car is all there and in decent shape. Vehicle has the original steering wheel. The car has four brand new tires. Has both black and yellow plates. Been a California car its whole life. Clean California title. The vehicle does have rust.
