The Appeal
The 1966 BSA C15 represents the final and most refined iteration of BSA's landmark 250cc unit-construction single. Benefiting from nearly a decade of factory development, including the heavy-duty bottom-end improvements derived from Jeff Smith's championship-winning competition machines, the 1966 model is widely regarded as the sturdiest and most reliable of the entire C15 production run.
This particular example carries an interesting provenance: it is the bike on which the late owner, Don, took his motorcycle test at the age of 17. Having rediscovered it online in 2017, he bought it back and set about returning it to its former glory. Finished in black with practical leg shields and a rear storage box, it indicates 28,971 miles on the odometer. Now offered following Don's sudden passing earlier this year, this C15 seeks a like-minded new custodian who will appreciate the care and sentiment invested in it.
