Pre-ofertas

1966 BSA C15

Highlights

  • Current owner had owned and passed their motorbike test on this bike in the early 70s - bought it back in 2017 and returned it to it's current condition
  • The vendor states the bike was kept to a very high standard both mechanically and cosmetically
  • Carefully stored in a dehumidified, carpeted workshop under dust sheets

The Appeal

The 1966 BSA C15 represents the final and most refined iteration of BSA's landmark 250cc unit-construction single. Benefiting from nearly a decade of factory development, including the heavy-duty bottom-end improvements derived from Jeff Smith's championship-winning competition machines, the 1966 model is widely regarded as the sturdiest and most reliable of the entire C15 production run.
This particular example carries an interesting provenance: it is the bike on which the late owner, Don, took his motorcycle test at the age of 17. Having rediscovered it online in 2017, he bought it back and set about returning it to its former glory. Finished in black with practical leg shields and a rear storage box, it indicates 28,971 miles on the odometer. Now offered following Don's sudden passing earlier this year, this C15 seeks a like-minded new custodian who will appreciate the care and sentiment invested in it.

Key Information

  • Mileage: 28,971 miles indicated

  • Technical specs: 249cc air-cooled OHV single-cylinder, four-speed manual

The Detail

  • Bought back by its owner in 2017 and restored
  • Finished in black paintwork
  • Fitted with leg shields and a rear storage box
  • Stored in a dehumidified workshop on carpeted flooring, under dust sheets
  • The vendor states all of Don's vehicles were used, cherished, and kept to a very good standard mechanically and cosmetically
  • Last MOT in September 2017 was a second-time pass; the first attempt failed solely due to headlamp aim being too high
  • One advisory noted at last MOT regarding slightly misaligned wheel alignment
