A nicely presented ‘ready for summer’ LHD MG B Roadster
HISTORY FILE – Our chrome bumper model was initially registered on 01. 02. 1969 as a UK vehicle and spent the vast majority if its life on the island. Converted to LHD by a UK specialist in 2019 at the request of the last owner who now resides in Germany, its gentle restoration is evident, but clearly very sensibly done without bursting the budget and will offer huge fun to its next owner. Our nicely presented car is now ready to be used for the summer of 2020.
EXTERIOR – In recent years, our LHD example has clearly received a new coat of paint and shows an overall good finish and will not disappoint its new owner. A new quality mohair soft top adds to the adventure and offers a dryer option - if that is your thing! All chrome elements and rubber seals present well and add to the nice appearance of this entry classic car price bracket.
INTERIOR – New leather seats with matching head restraints are a nice touch in what appears to be a very tidy interior environment. The 13” 3 – spoke leather steering wheel is a feels nice in the hand and is a touch thicker than the usual Mota-Lita. Relatively new interior carpets tidy everything up nicely with an added bonus of additional weather rubber MG emblem mats. The boot area too has also been treated to new carpets.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION – Our ubiquitous standard 1798cc B-Series block pools nicely with a smooth overdrive gearbox. The engine bay presents well and starts with minimum choke awaiting the twin SU carburetors to settle quickly.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES – Another plus point for our LHD example are a new set of chrome wires sat within relatively new Avon 175/ 65 R14 tyres. The spare also has also been treated to a matching new matching Avon tyre. The combined front disk and rear drum brakes are period effective and, all in all, add assurance to what is clearly a super driver and nicely presented car.
