Offered for sale on behalf of its owner, one of the earliest 912’s in existence, worldwide.
Car #26 was manufactured in early spring of 1965, during the first days of production and alongside the very last examples of its predecessor, the Porsche 356. Today, this car is believe to be the fourth oldest 912 and second oldest driving example in the world.
Initially the 912 was offered only to the European market, with all of the earliest examples sold exclusively by European based dealerships. This example was sold by Winter Porsche, Berlin on April 6th 1965 with the modest options list detailing a wooden steering wheel and chrome plated steel wheels.
The car would subsequently spend the first ten years of its life in Germany, before being shipped over to the United States. In 2009, the car was purchased and restored by a New York based enthusiast, before being sold on to a collector here in the UK.
Revival have had the privilege of caring for this car for a number of years now, with recent work including a steering rack overhaul and speedo drive replacement, in addition to the prescribed routine maintenance.
A historically significant and attractive piece of motoring history, superb investment and lot of fun!
