THIS STUNNING EXAMPLE OFFERED HERE IS A VERY RARE UK DELIVERED RIGHT HAND DRIVE CARBURETTED, DRY SUMP LUBRICATION FERRARI 308GTB VETRORESINA (GLASS REINFORCED PLASTIC/ GRP) MODEL. ONE OF ONLY 154 MANUFACTURED IN RIGHT HAND DRIVE AND ONE OF APPROXIMATELY 100 DELIVERED WITH DRY SUMP ENGINE.
As a direct replacement for the Dino 246 GT & GTS, the production of the 308s ran from 1975 until 1977 when it was replaced by the 328 GT & GTS. Ferrari began production with the light kerb weight Vetroresina & introduced the steel-bodied 308s alongside the Vetroresina bodies which were phased out in December 1977.
Low production numbers, carburetted & dry sump lubrication engine with light kerb weight Vetroresina bodies & reduced susceptibility to corrosion by far makes for the most desirable of the 308 range.
This vehicle comes out of dry storage since 1991 which the owner had for 31 years will require recommissioning.
