Description
This is a very rare surviving 1960 Husky Series 1 Estate or shooting brake. The car is finished in its original 2 tone colour scheme and other than light areas of touching up has never been re-sprayed. The car has white wall tyres as in period.
The vehicle is very original and in lovely patinated condition with some light areas of restoration including a complete new interior roof lining. The biscuit beige interior is in good original condition with some very minor damage to the cushion of the drivers seat. The rear seat folds down to virtually flat and very useable position.
The detailed engine bay is clean and the conventional layout make it very accessible and easy to work on. The car is in good general condition with all panels steel and intact (note some of these cars have had fibreglass panels replace the original as originals are no longer available) Panel fit is generally good and reflects the cars age - the drivers door could benefit from being re-hung. The paint finish is I would say wholly original with a couple of areas of touching up. There is a minor dent in the rear panel above the fuel filler. The complete interior roof lining has been replaced to match the original and is in excellent condition. The biscuit beige seats are in lovely original patinated condition with some light damage to the cushion of the drivers seat. The interior door trims have been replaced at some stage in the cars life and match the seats. The car comes with an extensive history file going back many years. The file includes, historic MoTs, bills for work and original hand books pertinent to the car and marketing brochures which feature a car of the same specification and colour scheme.
I purchased the car from a gentleman who lived in Norfolk and used the car as his work horse for his historic book business. The engine bay is clean and easily accessed. The 1390cc engine starts easily and pulls well with 55/ 60 mph easily achieved when cruising. The car rides well with the steering direct for a car of this era. The gear box is direct and easy to use. The previous owner replaced the clutch just prior to selling the car. The brakes work very well the car drawing to a stop quickly without pulling to either side. I have replaced the battery and the electrics are in good order. An electronic oil pressure gauge has been fitted and this shows good pressure through the rev range.
