Much-loved classic Mk 4 VW Golf GTi for sale. This is a great car to drive, nippy, responsive and super-reliable. Low mileage at 86, 680 from new. Pillar box red, 5 doors, 6 speed, electric sunroof. Very good original condition for its age, a solid car with a powerful engine, structurally sound with no modifications and all original features intact.

It's never had an accident, so the bodywork is original, the bumper paintwork a little scuffed and faded in places. There are 2 minor faults: the passenger door only unlocks manually, and 2 of the VW badges on the wheels are missing. All other badges are as new, and it comes with new number plates (replaced Sept 22). The interior's also in good condition with no damage, just the expected wear for its age. Comfortable fabric seats, leather steering wheel and gearstick. Seats 4 easily and taking the seats down opens up a surprisingly large (bicycle-capacity) luggage space. It retains all the original details including, unusually, a proper spare wheel tucked under the floor of the boot, with wheel jack and tool set. Electric sunroof, electric windows, twin airbags, air con, VW 'Gamma' radio, emergency triangle, cup holders. Everything works. The Golf has been well-kept with just 2 owners from new (myself and my Mum). Bought in 1999 from a VW dealership, Lockyear Motors in Ewhurst, Surrey, it has remained in the family ever since. I'll provide a comprehensive full service history along with the original and complete service logbook. MOT and tax are renewed up to April 2023. Only selling due to ULEZ (the central London ultra-low emission zone) which means I have to pay a charge every time I drive it. Mechanics are up to scratch, it's been serviced regularly by VW garages, with parts replaced as necessary over the years. Usually runs at 38 mpg.
