Description

987 Jaguar xjs v12 Chasseur Stealth
91000 miles
For restoration.
Been stored in a barn for 6 years
It is 100% complete.
A very interesting project. A real ‘Q’ car
Runs , drives, stops steers.
Last driven briefly in 2017 been stored since
Requires welding. I had been amassing all the parts to restore this beast.
Some work was done but needs more. All sill corners are rotten. The lower radiator crossmember has corrosion. The rear side wing areas behind the bumper. Possibly a little on the windscreen in one area.
There were a few Chasseur Xjs sold I was told 7.
Most however that you see on the road just had the body kit fitted and that’s all. This one went to Chasseur for the ‘works’
This is a very interesting car.
I will list what I found out so far
Supposed to be one of 2. 7 litre conversions ( not sure if this is true, however the engine running it does not sound like the 5. 3 or the 6 litre versions)I would be confident to say that something has been done to the engine though as it has been painted, lots of parts changed to chrome and the engine compartment has been tidied. Probably at least blueprinted! It does have tubular manifolds and a full stainless exhaust system ( super sport)
Fitted with Koni suspension all round
Alcon brakes ( floating discs I believe)
Body kit has an aerodynamic package. There seems to be some kind of aero at the underside rear to pull the air from under the car, there is also extra panels on the rear boot lid to aid with the airflow. It has aero mirrors too.
Fond metal alloys I think
The most interesting item is the traction control on the ski slope control panel. It has 4 settings. I spoke to a chap a few years back that worked for chasseur. He told me that 2 of the guys went onto to set up Prodrive ( Subaru and rallying) after Chasseur closed its doors for the last time. This may be where they got the RandD for Prodrive! I got no further with my inquiries because I left the country shortly after that and have not been back since.
The short drive I did down the road it was perfect in the suspension and steering, felt nothing like a regular xjs.
The interior unfortunately has some wood that is stained and peeling, the seats just need a good clean and reconolising. Carpets all good, headliner looked new. I think the dashboard binacle is Chasseur it seems different to others I have seen on regular jaguars. The steering wheel too.
Whether it is a 7 litre I am not sure but it does sound different, have enormous brakes and aerodynamics.
A very rare car indeed
I am only in the country for 2-3 weeks so I’m looking for the right buyer that will move fast. It can stay where it is for the foreseeable future if I don’t find someone. It’s just a shame it’s not back on the road and being enjoyed
There are many other things on this car but these are all I recal now.
